Chongwe District, January 7, 2025 – The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) has officially launched its 2025 Planning Meeting, with Acting Auditor General Dr. Ron Mwambwa leading the charge to set the tone for a year focused on accountability, transparency, and innovation.
The event, held at the Lusaka Legacy Resort, brought together key personnel from the OAG to outline strategies and priorities for the year. Dr. Mwambwa, in his opening address, emphasized the critical role of strategic planning in delivering high-quality audits that uphold public trust and ensure the responsible use of public resources.
“Planning is not just a procedural activity; it is the foundation of our ability to deliver results that matter,” Dr. Mwambwa stated. “Through careful planning, we can ensure that our audits continue to drive accountability and transparency across the public sector, contributing to good governance and national development.”
Earlier in the day, Acting Deputy Auditor General for Corporate Services and Specialised Audits Division, Mrs. Stella Nyonda, delivered welcoming remarks, underscoring the importance of collaboration and innovation in achieving the Office’s objectives. She called on attendees to embrace teamwork and adopt modern approaches to overcome challenges and enhance audit efficiency.
“This year, we have an opportunity to reimagine how we work together and leverage innovative solutions to meet the growing demands of public financial oversight,” Mrs. Nyonda said. “Our collective efforts will determine the success of our mission to promote accountability and safeguard public resources.”
The Planning Meeting serves as a cornerstone for the OAG’s operations, providing a platform to reflect on past achievements, address challenges, and set actionable goals for the future.
