At the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Summit held in Beijing, President Hakainde Hichilema had the privilege of engaging with his esteemed counterpart, His Excellency President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, the leader of the Republic of Kenya.
The longstanding friendship between Zambia and Kenya has flourished over the years, fostering a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect. In their bilateral discussions, the two leaders addressed several pressing issues that concern both nations and their citizens. They acknowledged that, similar to Zambia, Kenya is grappling with the adverse effects of climate change, which poses significant challenges to their development.
In light of these shared difficulties, President Hichilema emphasized the importance of collaboration across the continent, advocating for a united approach to enhance resilience against climatic disruptions and to safeguard the future of their peoples.
