Justice Minister Princess Kasune has refuted claims suggesting that the UPND Administration is planning to make changes to certain sections of the Constitution. Ms. Kasune has dismissed these allegations as untrue.
She emphasized that President Hakainde Hichilema has made it clear that any modifications to the constitution will only take place after consensus has been reached, and the process will be conducted openly and inclusively.
Ms. Kasune assured that the UPND government will not partake in any deceptive constitution amendment procedures similar to the controversial bill 10 of 2019 that occurred under the PF administration. She urged former leaders to refrain from providing false information to the public regarding the constitution amendment process.
The statement was issued in Lusaka today, highlighting the government’s commitment to transparency and integrity in handling any potential changes to the Constitution.
