Renowned African rivers expert, Dr. Kelvin Kamayoyo, is currently taking part in a panel discussion at the 2024 EAZ National Economic Summit, focusing on the development of a sustainable industrial policy and job creation, with a specific emphasis on financing Zambia’s industrialization and value chains.
Dr. Kamayoyo, who also serves as the Technical Advisor at African Rivers, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, shedding light on the crucial role of rivers in the continent’s development.
African Rivers, a not-for-profit conservation organization, is dedicated to the protection and preservation of rivers in Zambia and beyond. With a strong emphasis on inclusivity and gender focus, the organization is committed to ensuring that rivers remain healthy and safe, providing clean water, supporting wildlife, and facilitating various economic activities across the African continent.
Dr. Kamayoyo and African Rivers aim to work closely with the Government of the Republic of Zambia and other relevant institutions to achieve their conservation goals.
In addition to their local efforts, African Rivers seeks to collaborate with the United Nations and other international organizations to contribute effectively to Zambia’s Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
By building and enhancing these global partnerships, the organization aims to make a meaningful impact on the conservation and sustainable use of rivers, lakes, and other water resources in Zambia and across Africa.
