The President of the Riders and Online Store Sales Association (ROSSA) has reached out to key authorities in Zambia, including the Zambia Police Service, Road Traffic and Safety Agency (RTSA), and Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) in an effort to combat crime and restore order within the sector.

In recent developments, the Association President has corresponded with the Inspector General of Police and engaged with the CEO of RTSA to address the pressing issue of criminal activities affecting the biking community

Shimunika Chris Nyirongo, in an interview with Melo News, expressed concerns over the rising incidents of theft, particularly thieves disguising themselves as delivery personnel to commit crimes.

Nyirongo highlighted the alarming trend of bikes being stolen and then sold in rural areas, emphasizing the need for stricter regulations and enforcement to curb such illegal activities.

The President urged RTSA to ensure that all bikes on the road are properly registered with number plates and that riders possess valid licenses, both in urban and rural areas.

Under the umbrella of ROSSA, the bikers’ bureau aims to implement measures to enhance safety and order within the sector, including thorough background checks to ensure the integrity of all individuals involved in delivery services.
