Enock Chola, a native of Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia, embarked on an educational journey that took him from his primary education at City of Hope Secondary School in Lusaka to the Eastern province, specifically Chipata, where he pursued his secondary education. However, his path was not without its challenges, particularly in terms of financial constraints. Nevertheless, Enock’s determination and perseverance allowed him to overcome these obstacles and achieve one of his greatest accomplishments to date.
Enock’s aspirations of studying abroad began to take shape during his time in grade 11 when he learned about the Russian scholarships. Intrigued by the opportunity, he decided to apply for the scholarships after receiving his results. Much to his delight, Enock was successfully awarded the scholarship, paving the way for an exciting new chapter in his academic journey.
In September 2023, Enock, along with other deserving Zambian students who were also recipients of the Russian Scholarships, embarked on a journey to Moscow, Russia. Currently, he is enrolled in the preparatory faculty at Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, specializing in nuclear physics and technology. Enock’s experience in Russia thus far has been nothing short of positive, as he attests to the country’s reputation as an excellent place to pursue higher education.
Enock is quick to highlight the warm and welcoming nature of the Russian people, emphasizing that he has not encountered any instances of racism. Despite the cold winter weather and the presence of snow, Enock finds the surroundings in Russia to be incredibly beautiful. However, he does acknowledge that the language barrier poses a significant challenge at present.
Despite the language difficulties, Enock remains confident and optimistic, sharing with Melo Media that he is gradually adapting and making progress in communicating effectively. In conclusion, Enock urges his fellow youths to think outside the box and not be afraid to pursue educational opportunities abroad. He believes that studying in a different country provides invaluable knowledge and the chance to share one’s own culture with others. Enock’s journey serves as an inspiration for young individuals to strive for excellence and embrace the transformative power of education.
