Zambia’s Defence Minister, Ambrose Lwiji Lufuma, has led a delegation from his country to pay their final respects to Malawi’s Vice President, Saulos Chilima.
During a brief interview with the media at the Parliament, Lufuma expressed that President Hakainde Hichilema and the entire Zambian population are deeply saddened by Chilima’s passing.
Lufuma further mentioned that as neighboring nations, Zambia extended its support to Malawi by swiftly dispatching a military helicopter to transport the remains of the nine individuals who tragically lost their lives in a plane crash on Monday from Mzuzu to Lilongwe.
In response, Madalitso Kazombo, the first deputy speaker in Malawi, expressed gratitude towards Zambia for their unwavering support and heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.
