The Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) recently engaged in a productive discussion with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, underscoring our significant role in the country’s economic agenda and governance.
During the meeting, several key points were highlighted. Firstly, the National Assembly extended an invitation to EAZ to actively participate in sector budget committees. This recognition of our expertise will enable us to provide valuable insights to enhance the effectiveness of budget allocation.
Secondly, EAZ has been entrusted with the responsibility of reviewing and proposing amendments to specific laws. This initiative aims to support and promote robust economic growth within the nation. Furthermore, the National Assembly has expressed its commitment to actively engage in the upcoming 2024 National Economic Summit. This event will foster a constructive dialogue between policymakers and economic stakeholders, facilitating the exchange of ideas and strategies.
