This morning, President Hakainde Hichilema, accompanied by his wife, Mutinta Hichilema, the First Lady, paid their respects at the Anglican Cathedral during the funeral church service for the late Dr. Sketchley Sacika, former Secretary to the Cabinet, who was laid to rest today.

Dr. Sacika was a remarkable individual who dedicated his life to serving the nation with unwavering commitment. His influence was evident in the development of forward-thinking public policies focused on enhancing manpower development, professionalism, and the quality of service delivery.

Even after retiring from his official duties, Dr. Sacika continued to offer valuable guidance and wisdom to those in leadership positions, showcasing his enduring dedication to the betterment of society.

President Hakainde Hichilema urged public servants to follow Dr. Sacika’s example by embodying qualities such as humility, hard work, dedication, loyalty, and a strong commitment to serving the country.

The President extended his heartfelt condolences to Dr. Sacika’s family, offering them comfort and strength during this difficult time as they mourn the loss of a beloved member.
