The New Era Democratic Party has recently been launched, and it has established an Interim leadership to guide its operations. The Party strongly upholds its constitutional guidelines, which state that a President can either be elected through a conversion process or appointed by the board.
As of now, the Party’s leadership structure consists of Pumulo Stumbeko as the Party President, Exhildah Mwenya as the Vice President, and Simon Mwanza as the Secretary General.
During the launch event, Party President Situmbeko Pumulo emphasized the immediate goals of the Party, which include the rehabilitation of all government hospitals to eliminate diseases caused by poor sanitation, the establishment of farm blocks to combat hunger and unemployment, the creation of food and mineral reserves, and the stabilization of the national currency, the kwacha, by ensuring that all traders pay their taxes.
Furthermore, President Pumulo expressed the Party’s commitment to ensuring equal rights and access to economic resources for all individuals, particularly the poor and vulnerable.
The Party aims to eradicate poverty by promoting equal opportunities and the fair distribution of wealth, with a special focus on marginalized and disabled individuals.
