The Zambia Police Service is actively looking into a case that has been circulating on social media regarding allegations of sexual assault.
A Facebook post by Florence Solochi claims that she has been a victim of sodomy. However, despite the seriousness of these allegations, Florence Solochi has not officially filed a complaint with the police.
Rae Hamoonga, the Police Public Relations Officer, emphasizes the importance of individuals coming forward to provide formal statements and cooperate with authorities in order to conduct a proper investigation.
Without a formal complaint, it becomes challenging for law enforcement to fully investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
On April 2, 2024, Florence Solochi was summoned for an interview in Kabwe, and once the investigations are concluded, the details will be made available to the public.
The police also encourage anyone who has been a victim of a crime to come forward and report the incident, as their priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of all community members and thoroughly investigate any allegations of criminal activity.
