The Southern Africa Cross Border Traders Association expresses optimism regarding the creation of the Kazungula Border Authority (KBA), as they believe it will not introduce additional measures and regulations that could impede the movement of goods and services.
In a significant development, President Hakainde Hichilema and his Botswana counterpart recently signed a memorandum of understanding to establish the KBA, aiming to bolster trade between the two nations.
Jacob Makambwe, the Secretary General of the Southern Africa Cross Border Traders Association, emphasizes the importance of the authority improving border efficiency and ensuring the presence of appropriate institutions.
Mr. Makambwe hopes for a harmonized approach on both sides of the border, facilitating enhanced trade not only between Zambia and Botswana but also with other countries in the region.
