Musika in collaboration with PACRA and other stakeholders, has initiated a sensitization campaign on the Movable Property Registry System(MPRS).

Speaking during a meeting in Lusaka today, the representative of Musika Joshua Munkombwe has expressed gratitude to the Swedish government for donating over $24,000 to bolster the success of movable property awareness campaign.

He says the collaboration has come at the right time in order to address challenges related to loan access and disbursement for smallholder farmers.

And speaking at the meeting, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for PACRA Mr Benson Banda says, the collaboration will help in uplifting the lives of small-scale famers .

He notes that in order to give new lives to small-scale famers there is need to conduct sensitisation country wide in order to increase awareness activities of movable assets.

Meanwhile Patrick Zulu who spoke on behalf of the Bank of Zambia says, lack of utilisation has been identified as a major obstacle to financial inclusion, with financial institutions hesitating to extend loans to smallholder farmers due to perceived risks.

And the Bank of Zambia has expressed concerns over underutilisation of Movable Property Security Act which it says has hindered small-holder farmers from accessing loans.
