Binwell Mpundu, the Member of Parliament for the NKANA constituency, has offered some advice to President Hakainde Hichilema regarding his ministers.

Mpundu suggests that the President should take action against those ministers who are hindering progress. While President Hichilema has been quick to fire and reshuffle senior government officials at the permanent secretary level, he has not shown the same urgency when it comes to ministers.

Since assuming office, the President has only made two changes at the ministerial level, removing Derrick Chilundika and Chushi Kasanda from the Ministry of Information.

Mpundu, speaking at the official unveiling of International Resources Holding as a Strategic Equity Partner in Mopani Copper Mines, emphasized the need for the President to address the issue and whip those who are slowing down progress.

On the other hand, Anthony Mumba, the Member of Parliament for Kantanshi, commended the government for successfully securing a partner for Mopani.

Mumba acknowledged that politics can be a thankless job and expressed gratitude towards those who perform well. He urged the new investor to prioritize the employment of young people and improve the working conditions for both employees and suppliers/contractors.

Mumba highlighted the issue of low wages and abusive conditions faced by workers, emphasizing that such practices should come to an end under President Hichilema’s leadership.
