Yesterday, President Hakainde and the First Lady, Mutinta Hichilema, attended Sabbath Worship at Woodlands Central SDA Church alongside fellow believers in Christ.
During his address to the congregation, President Hichilema highlighted the pressing issue of drought affecting the country and its impact on electricity generation.
Despite the challenges, the President reassured the church and the nation that the government will make necessary adjustments to the national budget to tackle these issues effectively.
President Hichilema emphasized the importance of redirecting resources from non-essential areas to support those most affected by the drought, underscoring the need for unity and collaboration.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the President called for a collective effort from all sectors of society, including religious and traditional leaders, to work hand in hand with the government to address the crisis.
In closing, President Hichilema urged everyone to come together, support one another, and trust in God’s guidance to overcome the challenges ahead, concluding with a heartfelt wish for a blessed Sabbath and a prosperous nation.
