—–Save the Environment and People’s Agency – (SEPA) is excited to announce it’s Participation on
Women’s Entrepreneurship in Forestry, which looked at challenges and opportunities that women face in the forestry industry.
The event took place at the Headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome on 20-22 February 2024.
The overall objective of the meeting was to stimulate a collective reflection on the factors that can enable or hinder the socio-economic empowerment of women in the forest sector, exploring women’s needs and collecting their suggestions.
The forest business can help to kick poverty in communities because already forest businesses contribute a lot to Gross Domestict Products of every country. Forest products can support well being and healthy of the people because it nutrition part in wild foods such as catappilars, ants, game meat, wild vegetables, medicne just to mention a few. All that is needed is to support women in this industry with financial machinery to add value to their products.
The outcome is a roadmap for policymakers and practitioners, with concrete proposals and recommendations to promote women entrepreneurship in forestry.
