President Hakainde Hichilema expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to welcome His Excellency Eng. Abdurahman Abdulmohsen A. Alfadley, the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his delegation to State House today.
President Hichilema conveyed his appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for sending a delegation to Zambia and expressed gratitude for the generous gift of the hospital constructed in Lusaka.
The discussions between the two parties revolved around enhancing the economic ties between Zambia and Saudi Arabia in alignment with Zambia’s Foreign Policy of Economic Diplomacy. Zambia’s rich natural resources were highlighted, while Saudi Arabia’s advanced technology was acknowledged.
The focus of the talks was on exploring opportunities for collaboration in Capital Mobilization, technology exchange, Joint ventures, and value addition processes. Both sides emphasized the importance of maximizing the benefits of their partnership.
Apart from the agricultural sector, President Hichilema urged the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to consider investing in mining opportunities in Zambia, especially in critical minerals like manganese, cobalt, nickel, and copper. The potential for mutual growth and development in these sectors was underscored during the discussions.
