President Hakainde Hichilema proudly asserts that the UPND government has achieved a commendable score of seven out of ten in terms of effectively implementing their manifesto within a relatively short span of two and a half years.

According to President Hakainde Hichilema, the UPND government has made significant strides in fulfilling their manifesto, earning a solid rating of seven out of ten on the scale of accomplishment in just two and a half years.

President Hakainde Hichilema highlights the remarkable progress made by the UPND government in translating their manifesto into tangible actions, stating that they have successfully achieved a commendable score of seven out of ten within a relatively brief period of two and a half years.

President Hichilema expressed his optimism for the future during the inauguration of the Anderson Kambela Mazoka House in Lusaka, which serves as the new UPND headquarters. He confidently stated that the government will surpass their initial promises and achieve even greater accomplishments in their upcoming term. This declaration highlights the commitment and determination of President Hichilema and his administration to deliver on their pledges and make significant progress for the nation.

The Head of State expressed astonishment at the opposition’s demand for an early election, considering the significant accomplishments made in the past two and a half years. Despite the opposition’s claim of failure, the Head of State questioned their reasoning, as the achievements attained during this period were substantial and noteworthy.

The extensive list of accomplishments slips my mind, as it is overwhelmingly long. Moreover, today I encountered someone expressing their dissatisfaction by stating, “nabafilwa bafumemo” which translates to “they have failed, they should come out of government.” This individual’s remark emphasizes the desire for an early election, indicating a strong urge for change and a fresh start.

“What actions would you like us to take regarding the prospect of early elections? It is worth noting that the Patriotic Front (PF) had a decade-long tenure in power.”

President Hakainde Hichilema emphasized the significant progress achieved since 2021, showcasing the remarkable advancements made by the government within a specific timeframe. In his evaluation, he awarded the government a commendable score of seven out of ten, reflecting the positive impact of their policies and initiatives on the nation’s development. This recognition underscores the dedication and commitment of the government in driving positive change and improving the lives of the people.

Over the course of two and a half years, we have successfully completed seven out of a potential ten items on our list, which is rated on a scale of ten. As we enter the second half of our first term, we are confident that we will be able to accomplish the remaining tasks within the next two and a half years.

President Hichilema expressed his anticipation for the upcoming second term, emphasizing the introduction of new initiatives that were never previously discussed, such as the recruitment of all volunteers.

He directed attention towards his administration’s accomplishments and ongoing efforts, encouraging the evaluation of his performance based on tangible outcomes achieved during his initial five years in office.

Additionally, President Hichilema called upon the party to utilize the secretariat as a means to mobilize and effectively serve the people. In recognition of the UPND’s extensive and at times challenging history, he acknowledged the sacrifices made by its members and leaders, including the party’s founder, Mazoka.

The significance of remembering history and drawing lessons from it was underscored by the individual in a position of authority, highlighting the detrimental nature of any endeavors aimed at suppressing or distorting narratives.

The leader, Hichilema, placed great emphasis on the need to institutionalize the party, ensuring its longevity and continuity beyond the influence of specific leaders like himself and Mazoka, thereby solidifying its democratic principles.

Additionally, the President outlined future endeavors to establish provincial offices throughout Zambia by April 2024, demonstrating a commitment to expanding the party’s presence and accessibility across the country.

President Hichilema emphasized the party’s preparedness for upcoming elections and forming alliances, highlighting its strong commitment to growth and establishing a strong bond with the people.

Additionally, President Hichilema staunchly defended his track record in promoting democratic space, drawing a clear distinction between the current situation and the past limitations faced by the UPND.

In response to allegations of a diminishing democratic space, the President confidently refuted such claims by pointing out the freedom of campaigning and expression that has been observed in recent by-elections. This serves as evidence of the party’s dedication to upholding democratic principles and ensuring a fair political environment.
