In a significant development, the Zambia Police Service has officially declared the apprehension and subsequent charging of Mrs. Jane Lusengo Shikapwasha, a 73-year-old woman, for the grave crime of murder. This charge is in direct violation of Section 200 of the Penal Code Act Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia. The victim in question is none other than her late husband, Lieutenant General Ronald Shikapwasha Retired, adding a tragic twist to this already distressing situation.
On the evening of January 14, 2024, a noteworthy incident took place at their residential address, specifically at plot number 477 in the serene neighborhood of Ibex Hill. The incident unfolded between the hours of 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, casting a mysterious aura over the tranquil surroundings.
After an exhaustive and meticulous inquiry carried out by the Twin Palm Police Station, a wealth of compelling evidence was amassed, ultimately resulting in the apprehension of Jane Lusengo Shikapwasha.
Today, on January 19, 2024, law enforcement officials executed the arrest at the Twin Palm Police Station, which was previously known as the Ibex Hill Police Station.
On the evening of January 14, 2024, a tragic incident unfolded at plot number 477 in Ibex Hill, located in the Lusaka district of the Lusaka Province in the Republic of Zambia. According to allegations, Jane Lusengo, acting alone, was involved in a fatal incident that resulted in the untimely demise of Lieutenant General Ronald Shikapwasha Retired. It is said that during the timeframe of 17:00 and 18:00 hours, Jane Lusengo utilized a double barrel short gun with the serial number 168462. Tragically, she shot the deceased in the abdomen, causing a severe gunshot wound on the left side. The injuries sustained proved fatal, and Lieutenant General Ronald Shikapwasha Retired passed away on January 15, 2024, at 21:40 hours at Maina Soko Military Hospital.
Mrs. Shikapwasha finds herself in the custody of the police, awaiting her upcoming court appearance.
