Today, the event in Ndola to inaugurate the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commissions (CEEC) Industrial Yard saw the presence of various dignitaries. Among them was Mathews Musonda, the councilor of Twashuka ward, who represented us. Additionally, Hon Elias Mubanga, the Minister of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and Mutelo Subeta, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of SMEs, were also in attendance along with other stakeholders.
The Ndola Industrial Yard has been commissioned as the second industrial yard on the Copperbelt, following the recent commissioning of the Kitwe Industrial Yard a few months ago.
Hon. Mwambazi expressed great enthusiasm for this development as a representative of Bwana Mkubwa Constituency, where the industrial yard is located.
The inauguration of Ndola Industrial Yard will play a significant role in revitalizing and generating employment opportunities for the young population in the Constituency and the province. Moreover, it will unlock additional avenues in the Government’s endeavor to position Copperbelt Province as the industrial hub of Zambia.
We strongly encourage our citizens, particularly the cooperatives operating in these industrial yards, to ensure the proper maintenance of these facilities. Additionally, we encourage them to actively contribute to the economic development of our country by promoting value addition.
Hon Mwambazi emphasized the importance of urging the government, via CEEC, to allocate sufficient funds for empowerment programs. This will prevent applicants from enduring prolonged waiting periods every time they submit their applications.
