President Hakainde Hichielam convened a meeting at State House yesterday, where he engaged with artists and musicians to delve into various topics impacting their industry and addressing their concerns.
The President attentively listened to their predicament and made a firm decision to assist in establishing music studios for them, with the aim of fostering their talent and enhancing their musical abilities.
Numerous training opportunities are being provided to our youth through various programs, aiming to empower them to become self-sufficient.
The President mentioned that our discussion also encompassed the importance of improving healthcare plans for our artists and musicians.
During our time in government, we are tirelessly striving to utilize art and music as powerful tools in fostering peace and unity among our citizens.
President Hichilema further urged our young artists and musicians to explore alternative business ventures as a means of diversifying their portfolios. In fact, some musicians have already embraced this advice by venturing into farming, carpentry, and bricklaying. There is absolutely no reason to feel ashamed about acquiring life skills and pursuing a vocation.
The President expressed his gratitude towards the artists and musicians who fearlessly used their platforms to denounce the injustices of the past. As the UPND New Dawn government, we appreciate their courage and unwavering support for the 2.8 million individuals who entrusted us with their votes and placed us in public office.
President Hichilema expressed his gratitude to the artists and musicians for engaging in this timely conversation at State House. This is an appropriate gesture that deserves recognition. May our artists, musicians, and our nation be blessed by God.
