The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) affirms that the realization of a 24-hour economy is feasible and expresses confidence in the current leadership’s ability to achieve this goal.
President Hakainde Hichilema emphasized the importance of transforming Zambia into a 24-hour economy during a recent meeting with the Zambia Congress of Trade Unions-ZCTU- board at state house. This strategic move aims to enhance productivity and drive economic growth in the country.
In response to this progress, Biemba Maliti, the Chairperson of the ZDA Board, has expressed support for the president’s initiative. According to Maliti, the implementation of a 24-hour economy would not only enhance productivity but also generate numerous job opportunities for the people of Zambia.
Mr. Maliti has clarified that Zambia possesses the necessary human resources for the expansion project. He further emphasized that the country’s main focus should be on identifying the appropriate skilled workforce, a matter that the government has already taken into account by prioritizing education.
He believes that implementing a 24-hour economy would not only lead to the creation of wealth but also help alleviate the country’s high poverty rates.
