Earlier today, President Hakainde Hichilema convened a meeting at State House with the Bank of China (BOC), headed by its Executive Vice President, Mr. Lin Jingzhen. The Chinese Ambassador, His Excellency Du Xiaohui, was also present during the meeting.
During our State Visit to China, the President engaged in a comprehensive discussion covering various matters, with a particular focus on implementing the key priority areas that were mutually agreed upon between Zambia and China.
President Hichilema emphasized the importance of our Comprehensive Strategic Collaborative Relationship and urged Mr. Lin to utilize the Bank’s financial expertise in order to enhance Zambia’s economic growth. This can be achieved by fostering stronger trade and economic connections between our nations.
The gathering sets the stage for the execution of the key sectors in mining, service industry, inclusive finance, and the nurturing and growth of Zambia’s processing and manufacturing sector. This will establish Zambia as a prominent manufacturing hub in the region.
It is pleasing to observe that BOC continues to demonstrate its dedication to backing ongoing initiatives within our nation.
