President Hakainde Hichilema expressed his delight in hosting a delegation of 14 Swedish companies, led by His Excellency Mr. Mikael Lindvall, the Swedish Deputy Director General of Foreign Affairs, Africa Department. This visit was part of the Swedish Ministerial Business Delegation, highlighting the growing economic ties between Sweden and Zambia.
As part of a ministerial business delegation, Swedish companies recently visited the State House. The meeting served as a celebration of the longstanding relations between Sweden and the host country, with gratitude expressed to His Excellency Lindvall for organizing such a significant delegation. This visit highlights the strengthening connections between the two nations and their people.
During their visit, we expressed gratitude to Sweden for their assistance in the debt restructuring negotiations. We also encouraged them to continue supporting us as we strive to achieve our economic transformation goals.
The purpose of the visit was to invite these companies to invest in Zambia, not just by extracting its resources, but also by processing them within the country and collaborating with the local private sector to add value. This approach is aimed at accelerating economic growth, which is the main focus of Zambia.
As part of a ministerial business delegation, Swedish companies recently visited the State House in Zambia. Known for their expertise in technology and solutions, these companies were encouraged to explore different sectors of the Zambian economy. In order to evaluate the compatibility of their models with Zambia, the companies were requested to share information about their previous ventures on a global scale.
