According to the Prisons and Correctional Centres Audit Report of 2023, inmates are being served rotten food on occasion, which greatly diminishes the quality of their meals. This revelation raises concerns about the well-being and treatment of inmates within the system.
Additionally, the report highlights that only 53 percent of inmates have access to toilets, and the overall sanitation conditions are poor, with water not always being available. This raises serious concerns about the well-being and basic rights of those incarcerated.
