UNWTO Impressed by Zambia’s Tourism Education Program

Zambia’s efforts to incorporate tourism and wildlife conservation into their education system have caught the attention of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). The UNWTO has expressed their admiration for Zambia’s approach in engaging school children in these important topics, highlighting the country’s commitment to sustainable tourism practices.

Marie Grandcourt, the UNWTO Regional Director for Africa, has expressed admiration for Zambia’s Tourism Education Program. She emphasized the importance of involving the younger generation in the preservation and promotion of nature, highlighting the positive impact that such programs can have on the future of tourism in the region.

During a visit to the Lusaka National Park, a team from the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) led by Ms. Grandcourt expressed their admiration for Zambia’s tourism education program. While there, the team also had the opportunity to view the elephants at the elephant orphanage, further highlighting the importance of sustainable tourism practices in preserving wildlife and their habitats.

In an interview with ZNBC News monitored by Melo Media, Tourism Minister Rodney Sikumba shared that the country is on track to welcome two million international tourists by next year.

Zambia’s tourism education program has caught the attention of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). During their visit to the country for a highly subscribed summit, the UNWTO team expressed their admiration for the program. Mr. Sikumba, a representative from Zambia, expressed his happiness at the team’s visit.
