The Food Reserve Agency (FRA) has announced that they will be purchasing maize at a rate of K280 per 50kg bag.
Farmers in Zambia can expect to receive a higher price for their maize this year, with the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) offering to purchase the crop at K280 per 50kg bag. This represents a significant increase from last year’s price of 180 Kwacha per bag.
At a press conference held in Lusaka, FRA Board Chairperson Kelvin Hambwezya revealed that the agency will be purchasing maize at a price of K280 per 50kg bag in 2023.
The decision to purchase maize at K280 per 50kg bag was made taking into account the current prices of maize in the region.
