Out of 11 reports submitted by supreme audit institutions from Tanzania, Ghana, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Kenya, Sierra Leone, and Uganda, SAI Ghana’s report stood out for its excellence. This recognition highlights SAI Ghana’s commitment to upholding high standards in performance auditing and promoting accountability in public institutions.
The award presented by the Auditor General of Sweden, Helena Lindberg. The winning report, titled “Fleet Management of the National Ambulance Service,” tackled a critical issue in Ghana’s healthcare system – the shortage of ambulances. The report’s findings shed light on a problem that has been known for some time and highlighted the need for urgent action to address it. This recognition is a testament to SAI Ghana’s commitment to excellence in performance auditing and its dedication to improving public services in the country.
The audit focused on assessing the sustainability of measures put in place to ensure adequate care is provided when needed.
The team responsible for the award-winning report will have the opportunity to participate in a study visit to the Swedish NAO, where they can exchange knowledge and experiences with their Swedish counterparts. This recognition highlights SAI Ghana’s commitment to excellence in their work.
