Chanda Kabwe, the former National Coordinator for Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU), has been issued a warning and caution notice by the police. The notice is in relation to a case where Kabwe is suspected of being in possession of stolen property. The police have recorded a statement from Kabwe regarding the matter.
This vehicle, along with other properties, is being investigated as potential proceeds of crime under the company Bellum. The directors of Bellum are currently evading authorities. Mr. Kabwe, who resides in New Kasama in Lusaka and is 43 years old, received a warning and caution notice during his appearance before the team.
On April 20, 2023, a motor vehicle believed to be in the possession of the former Disaster Management Chief was intercepted along the Great North Road around Katuba area. As a result, he has received a warning and caution notice.
