Economist Kampamba Shula has emphasized the need government to come up with an economic recovery plan that will provide a roadmap on how it intends to deal with the economic hardships the country is facing.
Mr. Shula says an economic recovery plan is critical as it can bolster and rejuvenate the economy by restoring macroeconomic stability, fostering growth and diversification of the economy.
He explains that Zambia needs a strong recovery program to restore macroeconomic stability and promote a private sector-led economic recovery from the covid-19 crisis and other externalities.
Mr. Shula says the economic recovery plan can also give confidence to players in the economy as it signifies government’s commitment to ensuring the economy is back on a path that can address existing gaps and ensuring fiscal and debt sustainability, and reducing poverty and inequality.
