A 14-year-old pregnant girl of Mambwe district has been killed by a crocodile while attempting to cross a river with her two friends.
Eunice Nkhata, of Muyembe village in senior chief Nsefu’s area in Mambwe district, was killed while crossing Msandile River with her friends around 07:00 hours on Monday.
Headman Muyembe Voster Jere, who is also an uncle to the victim, said the juvenile was six months pregnant.
Mr Jere told Daily Mail that the juvenile had been craving for guavas and asked her two friends to escort her across the river to pick the fruits.
