Kamwala Ward Councillor Mainda Simataa says he’s saddened to learn of a child from Misisi compound who drowned when he went to swim in flood waters in Kamwala South in the company of his friends from school.
Councillor Simataa learned of the news when he went to do an on-site inspection of the area behind SDA and Mount Meru filling station along the ring road. “This is a death trap for children and a breeding ground for diseases.”
The Councillor says as of today, fire fighters from LCC fire brigade had deployed 2 water pumps and have been pumping flood waters from houses across the ring road into ditches along the ZESCO way leave which has now flooded maize fields.
