When the Chief of Party for an international NGO vehemently rejected my recommendation of Felix Banda for a team building project in 2005, claiming they had never heard of him and did not want to gamble, I made one firm guarantee, ‘Madam, Felix is far better than me.
However, if he does not deliver as expected, don’t pay him; I will pay him. In the event you pay him before the event, I will refund you everything and further apologize for recommending a wrong person. ‘
On this, she agreed to have Felix. Following the three day team building project, the Chief of Party phoned me, ‘Chibamba! Thank our for recommending Felix.
He exceeded our expectations. Rest assured we will not bothee you again because we are happy to work with him going forward.’
When you apply yourself to anything and perform with distinction, the world will be on its knees for your services. Your works speak for you. This is the reason we received more money than we needed for his funeral.
Young people, when given an opportunity, see it as a window for more opportunities. As we put Galamukani to rest today, think about how you can attain a mark of distinction from your own activities:
‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.’ Col 3:23-24.
Galamukani’s chapter has concluded. It’s your turn; pick it up. The LORD be with you.
