Auditor General Dr Dick Chellah Sichembe has called on key stakeholders like ZICA to work with his office in ensuring that public resources are protected.

Dr Sichembe says the aim of the engagement meeting was to equip ZICA with Knowledge which can be used in advancing and advocating for enhanced accountability, transparency and prudence in the management of public resources in the country.

He said this during a stakeholder engagement meeting with ZICA at his office in Lusaka today.

Dr Sichembe further disclosed that he was optimistic that the meeting with ZICA would to give effect to the Memorandum of understanding (MOU) that the two institutions signed last year were they agreed to engage in knowledge sharing, capacity building among others.

He further stated that his office will continue to work with key stakeholders like ZICA in the fight against mismanagement of resources in public institutions.

And speaking at the same meeting ZICA President Mrs. Cecilia Zimba said her office remained resolute to work with the office of the Auditor General in ensuring that public resources were protected.

She said the engagement meeting was a stepping stone to the enhancement of the already existing relationship and paved way for a new page towards fostering the actualisation of the MOU.

Mrs Zimba reiterated that ZICA will continue to provide professional Development Programs and selected in-house training to enhance skills development to members of staff for the office of the Auditor General.
