YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TALK ILL AGAINST THE FORMER PRESIDENT, Ruto warns his MPs & Ministers
Kenyan President William Ruto has told Members of Parliament of his Kenya Kwanza party not to talk ill against former President Uhuru Kenyatta. He has also asked his Ministers that cheap and ill talk against Kenyatta will not be entertained by him.
While addressing the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group at State House Nairobi, Ruto said the toxic talk against Kenyatta will not guarantee his and his party any public approval but that delivering to the people will.
The President said times of politicking has gone adding that, now is a time when the people must be served.
“I will not take any disrespect against President Kenyatta from anyone. I should not hear any of you here focusing on disparaging our former President. He served his time and he is no longer a President. Why not talk about me and how I should improve my leadership than alway finding time to disrespect the former President. I shall henceforth discipline anyone in our party who dare disrespect President Kenyatta. A former President must be accorded the respect. We’re judged by how well we respect our leaders before us. We’re not here because we’re any better than those who are not here, we are here because we have been blessed so take that as a privilege to serve and not insult the former head of state”
And Ruto says he doesn’t expect his MPs to champion partisan policies and debates in Parliament. He rejected calls for increasing a Presidential term limit.
