The Media Network Action on Climate Change (MENACC) notes that the new dawn Government is keen on driving the green economy agenda through consistent policy implementation and allocation of resources to enhance environmental protection.
MENACC Executive Coordinator Kennedy Phiri has applauded the allocation of more than One Billion Kwacha to Environmental protection in the 2023 national budget which is 0.6 percent share of the total K167 Billion budget.
He says although the amount is far less than what would fully drive the country’s environmental damage, MENACC is calling for prudent use of these resources if the desired results are to be achieved.
