Toyota through CFAO Motors has handed over three high performance motor vehicles to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) in an expanded partnership.
FAZ president Andrew Kamanga says the three motor vehicles that comprise a Toyota Fortuner, Corolla Cross and RAV 4 would go some miles in easing the transport challenges around the national teams.
“Toyota is back with an even bigger package which has expanded the support to FAZ. The gesture by Toyota testifies to their all-weather support to football. We hope other corporates can come on board and support football in the manner Toyota has done,”
Kamanga said in a speech read on his behalf by deputy general secretary Joseph Chimpampwe.
“We have no doubt that the support Toyota has given to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) will inspire our national team bench to work even harder.”
Kamanga pleaded with other corporate bodies to explore opportunities in the game.
“We also wish to implore other corporate bodies to emulate Toyota to support football. There are other opportunities with other teams that can be emulated. The women space presents some opportunities for corporates that can support the Copper Queens as they prepare for the FIFA World Cup that will be staged in Australia/New Zealand. Our women’s league is yearning for more sponsors. Everyone knows what beautiful story the women have written for our game,” he said.
And CFAO Motors Chief Marketing Officer Nenad Predrevac said CFAO Motors had chose to be part of football support as it was a sport enjoyed by many people.
“Today is a very special occasion, as Toyota by CFAO Motors Zambia hands over three vehicles-a Toyota Fortuner, a Corolla Cross and a RAV 4- for use during the contracted period as a token of appreciation to the national team for the betterment of football in Zambia,” Predrevac said.
Toyota will also service the three motor vehicles that will be assigned to FAZ to help ease the transport challenges around national teams.
