I have observed a growing number of individuals rising to fill up gaps they notice with regards to providing thought leadership.
With the unprecedented increase in the use of social media to communicate and engage in topical discussions, the birth of “experts” has spiralled in most fields. We have seen the emergence of financial experts, economics experts , investment experts, digital experts, marketing experts, personal branding experts, political experts, health/wellness experts and the list can be very long.
Now, amongst these “Experts” some are real and others, still learning and many just chancers because of the glaring gaps left by real experts and the opportunities that are ever begging for thought leadership.
So, where are the real experts when your profession is being invaded by masqueraders? The world needs your knowledge, skill and expertise from you the real expert.
Start a blog, a podcast, youtube channel write a book etc. This can help with managing the rampant misinformation. You can also make money for yourself, create opportunities for consultancy and appointments in many areas that require your expertise.
We need information from people who know, motivation from people who have walked the path and not just google experts with fine accents, swag and power of the gab.
