The 21 year joins from Israel side Maccabi Petah Tikva in one of the biggest transfer deals involving a Zambian player.
Lameck Banda sold to Lecce Italy with agent Nir Karin
The robust winger thanked his teammates at the Israeli side.
“Israel has been good for me. I have learnt a lot. I would like to take this moment to thank my teammates at Petah Tikva and my agent Nir Karin,” the former Zesco United and Buildcon winger said.
The 21 year had become the first Zambian to sign for a Serial A side.
“It’s a dream come true to play in top 5 league,” an excited Banda said.
His agent Karin was also happy to have sealed the deal for Banda.
Karin had been busy in the transfer window.
He recently Kings Kangwa and Miguel Changa Chaiwa move to Red Star Belgrade of Serbia and Swiss side Young Boys.
This is Banda’s fourth European club after starting out at Israeli side Hapoel as a youth player.
He then signed for Russian side Arsenal Tula with Kings Kangwa before returning to Israel.
Israel has been a good breeding ground for Zambian players.
The likes of African Cup of Nations winners Emmanuel Mayuka and Nathan Sinkala all started their European adventure in Israel.
