Speaking during the 2nd Quarter Media Brief in Lusaka today, ACC Director General Gilbert Phiri says the Commission in 2021 recieved a total of 6 reports from the FIC.
Mr. Phiri disclosed that in the last quarter, the commission received a total of 169 reports of suspected corruption of which 124 contained elements of corruption and 94 were authorised for investigation while the remaining 30 reports lacked sufficient details to warrant investigations.
He further disclosed that by the end of the quarter the Commission concluded a total of 163 investigation cases and made six arrests countrywide while 10 cases are before the courts of law.
And Mr. Phiri said there is no doubt that government has waged war on corruption and that the commission will do everything possible within its powers to vigorously pursue any cases of corruption.
Meanwhile, ACC Acting Director Investigations Raymond Chiboola has revealed that the Commission is actively investigating the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway road project.
