Life has so many instances that either brings the best out of us or the worst in us. In a view, we find friends bringing progress with positive response in us, however, the opposite is true with enemies. No one in this life want to have an enemy. This is due to the known characteristics of the person he or she is. Many people put much of their concern on who hates, who does not wish them well, who is competing with them and who wishes to see their downfall. This of course is seen too to people who are building their ladder in life, people who still need the development to dawn in their life. They speak of an enemy but they don’t know him or her. You speak of the adversary but you have no knowledge of him or her. At certain point when asked, most people tend to point at certain members within their proximity as the reason for the cause of their life stagnation. This too applies in academic sectors.
Students want to blame the lecturers of the failures they are accounted for. Lecturers too blame students for their failure to deliver their due dispensation of knowledge. Due to this the level of stagnation and progress find themselves at pa. It is a well-known fact that enemies are there. Yes, they exist but they don’t matter most to one’s life because they add no value. however, there is one enemy that is within us that matter most, of which, once ignored, heed to his calling brings about life stagnation. This is sleep. Sleeping is health but its excessive practice brings poverty and un-progressiveness. Un-progressiveness in a way that, at the time when one is supposed to think the mind is its shadow state. Poverty – because both riches and poverty are born from hard work and less work respectively. What I am talking about here? What kind of sleep is really being talked about here? Is it physical, spiritual, emotional or symbolic? This is failure to see things as life demands, opening an eye to opportunity that presents, choosing to believe a lie even when the truth is laid, failure to recognize what matters in life, and failure to come up with solutions to problems that presents themselves every day. In other words, it is myopia (blindness) of life. Sleep can give rise to the greatest snares that can rob you of the great opportunity. This includes; indecisiveness, procrastination, myopia and miscalculation of life issues. Hence with this, your future becomes shuttered while alive. This is because foreseeing the future depends on your ability to see golden opportunities as they unveil themselves every day.
My dear friend, sleeping is one of the most enjoyable things because of its benefit to the mind, bringing refreshment but it is not at all the time required to be pursued. It must be done for a right cause and at a right time. And stipulated hours for sleeping should be met to satisfy nature laws. However, extreme sleep brings hunger and life misfortunes. Therefore, to one who is in this state, this must serve as a wake-up call that will bring courtesy to him or herself on the right way of doing things. Getting into sleep is easy and simple but the consequences are hard and stiff at the same time.
If you have realized that you in sleep, the first question should be: “how did you find yourself in such a situation?” Of course, it is known that before one sleeps, there must be comfort so that the mind finds solace and later on falls asleep. The same can be said of certain life instances in which you feel comfortable. That situation you are in; the situation leading you to forgetting where you have to go, what should be done and eventually forgetting your mission.
Of course, one cannot forget what their mission is unless an attractive destruction came their way, just as it been in the past to our forefathers – where Samson forgot his mission because of women. Now, to this cause, ask yourself what is making you forget where you come from and where you are going? What is it that is keeping your company that does not engage your mind to cultivate things that matter in life?
Certainly, one of the answers to these questions could be your friends or people that you associate with in your life. The people that you spend most of your time with can either mold or destroy your life. That is why there is a saying that goes like: “show me your friends and I will tell you who you are.” Believe me or not, it is difficult to realize where you are supposed to be if your associates keep massaging you, leading to your comfortability and failure to progress and to think otherwise. There are certain people that will never bring development in your life for as long as you keep them to your side, for they are passive and inactive to your life.
They are like the number ‘one’, which when multiplied to any number give rise to the same number. What do I mean? No matter how long you stay with such kinds of people, your life will still remain in a stagnant state. If any change, they will turn to be the number ‘zero’ which implies that they will reduce you to nothing just as zero does when you multiply it with any number. They do not trigger any sense of progress or moving steps ahead instead they bid you to think the same way as you thought yesterday. Such instances can be equated to those times when you wish to fly but always associating yourself with chickens and ducks. When are you going to fly and be awake? Definitely, you will not fly any time soon. This will therefore be like moving one step ahead and ten steps backward.
This further will leave you in the same situation and position. It will leave you in sleep, lingering your waking up and delaying your alertness of mind. However, you can choose to live the opposite and counteract the side effects of sleep. To be awake from sleep requires a radical action to be taken. Cultivating positive thinking and being strategic in the manner of life approach.
Cultivating positive thinking is one way of eliminating sleep. Anyone who is imbued with positive thinking will always view life as interesting and hence, he will stay awake to all of its opportunities. The opposite is also true to one with a mind that is filled with too much negativity.
Positive thinking is the fuel for all types of development. It triggers the mind to take any action. Of course, it does not encourage the mind to stay idle but it always cultivates the mind to be active at all cost of life. Therefore, be a person that stays positive to thoughts that are developmental to wellbeing. Before you think of discouragement, think of how good it can be to achieve what your thoughts have been. Think of how good it can be to be awake in performing enjoyable things of life and that way your awakening will quicken. Therefore, I can simply say, ‘positive thinking and implementation are a remedy to sleep of life and a good prescription to development. This is why God gave each of us a mind for thinking, which is a distinguishing factor between us and animals. For this mind was not created for negative thoughts but instead for positive ones. Our living is based upon it. That is why when you are awakened many thoughts pop up, signifying the main function of the mind. The slogan in sleep must never be the same in the awakening of the mind. Think positively and live. Think negatively and die early before your time.
Beloved, realize that life requires you to be awake. It bids you to be in right direction. Always listen to the positive advice from people, for it is inevitable wisdom. Choose who to associate with in your life and that, will definitely determine the shape and direction of your life. Act on the necessities of life; never let things move by the way but control them in accordance with the will power, and always be eager to learn more because we are long-life leaners. In doing so, you will fulfill life’s requirement and learn it a good way as it is required to be learnt. You will then understand that life teaches life in all instances and stages. For it will mold you in the right path and you will not ask many questions but it will always tell you the course to be taken according to the dictates of every situation. Yes, it is where you become the Centre for sleep control and prevention (CPC).
Be awake now and face progress and sleep forever – remain in life stagnation. Time is now, time is here.
