Technology and Science Minister, Felix Mutati has observed that the financial standing of most African governments are suffocating, hence not having sufficient space to invest in solutions needed for transformation of economies.
Mutati has since called on all countries on the continent to act collectively to explore solutions which must be generated in collaboration with the private sector.
The minister was speaking in Lusaka, Saturday, when he officiated at the 13th African Union Private Sector Forum.
The gathering was themed “The role of Private Sector towards increasing investment in energy and agri-business to upscale productive capacities and industrialization drive in Africa.”
Mutati also noted the need for African governments to collectively tackle bottlenecks in infrastructure and logistics that are holding back the continent’s industrial capacity and competitiveness.
