Make no mistake. Democracy is a beautiful thing and Zambia has over the years made significant strides in building our democratic credentials but over the years, the political party system has destroyed this country particularly the mentality of the citizens.
The country has gotten futher divided not even on tribal basis but on political party lines which parties have brought in the issues of tribe inclination and everything else.
Today as a young politician am not inspired to belong to a parliament where every issue is approached from a party perspective. Progressive ideas have failed to go through on account of the movers of such ideas being viewed from political party lenses while on the other hand substandard (useless) ideas have been entertained and adopted again on a partizan line.
The happenings in parliament today broke my heart and its not what i dreamt of and i do not desire to be a part of such politics, totally retrogressive.
Today when u go to parliament with issues you are answered based on party lines. Its very sickening to continue trading on this line if you ask me.
Its takes me to think that the way to go is to abandon the political party system. Can you imagine candidates contesting in southern, northern province, eastern, northwest and others independently we would killed the tribal things and Zambia would get back to being normal.
Maybe and Just maybe we need to consider having an independent president and just maybe the national unity we so desire can be attained and just maybe this country can get back to normacy.
Dont argue with me from a political perspective. Its what i’m against in this post.
