The Football Association of Zambia has announced it realized over K1 million from ticket sales for the Zambia Comoros game in the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers played at the National Heroes Stadium.
Announcing the development, FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala said total revenue from the match was pegged at K1, 702, 600 while total expenses were at K818, 229 translating into a surplus of K884, 371.
Kashala said the money will be critical in recouping some of the expenses incurred in organizing the game adding that the Association benefitted largely from the welcome option of opening ticket sales four weeks before the game.
In a statement issued by FAZ Communications Manager Sydney Mungala, Kashala said that releasing the numbers from the gate charges was consistent with the current FAZ executive that had placed transparency at the core of its operations.
The Chipolopolo’s next AFCON engagement is back-to-back engagements against Lesotho in September.
