We are tired of being robbed in daylight by our own leaders and then they walk scot free. If there’s a country which has had the rawest deal in terms of leadership, Zambia may top the list.
Chiluba and his MMD stole and walked free. Now, yet again we have another scenario unfolding right in front of our eyes. Zambia has been robbed of Billions of Dollars since 2011 and the robbers may walk. But I ask myself how and why are they going to walk free from crimes so blatant 🤷🏿♂️
We should have changed the laws to make them stronger and curtail this thieving especially when we had President Mwanawasa. He’s the only President I can think of who could have done something sensible in terms of tightening our abuse of authority and corruption laws. That man went too soon !!
Now that we have a President in HH who seems to mean well, we better not lose him. Let’s stay close to him and lobby hard so that he pushes through parliament legislation which will curtail thieving in the future, or atleast create provisions for punishing thieves.
To be honest, right now we are at the mercy of UPND as a Country. Why do I say so ? If they ever decided to loot this country like PF did, they would take advantage of the weak laws and do it without fear of prosecution or conviction as long as they cover themselves. We are being told that PF cannot be punished by law because they used the same laws to cover their idiotic stealing. Although my thoughts are that if well calculated, the PF thieves can be brought to book and successfully convicted.
I would have expected that our legal experts would have been working in over drive to find every bit of law which can be applied in pinning the PF thieves down.
Fellow citizens, let’s rise up and demand that our laws be changed ‘Today’ in order to prevent us from reliving the thefts of Chiluba and ECL. We cannot, anymore, leave our destiny in the hands and mercy of a few we’ve elected into office.
We need very strong laws going forward so that we don’t ever experience a repeat of the grand corruption propagated by FTJ Chiluba and ECL. No no no, twa kaka basa.
