IS IT ONLY FREE SPEECH THAT ELON MUSK IS LOOKING FOR?

Elon Musk’s bid to acquire the social media platform, Twitter, was just accepted and per current times, he is the sole outright owner of it. The motives behind this as expressed by Musk himself are that the platform hasn’t being fulfilling it’s ultimate objective of being a free speech platform and a digital town square where people can meet to freely expressive their views about all kinds of topics without any algorithmic bias and tweaks done because of stiff moderation/regulation of content

Twitter chooses what kind of content to trend by tweaking their algorithms so as favor some to and some not to and this is mostly evident when it comes to politically inclined matters and Musk thinks the political neutrality that Twitter is supposed to be a platform for isn’t being achieved and so this also in turn undermines free speech, the blueprint of true democratic leadership and decisions. It also came to Musk’s attention that topics that are polarized against democrats and State decisions are plummeted down and so this in turn nullifies the very creeds that the edifices of democracy are built-on as true democratic leadership and decisions are supposed to be under constant public scrutiny without unnecessary interference from leaders and the state in general and so with that said, Elon Musk is fiercely advocating for free speech absolutism on Twitter but is that all to it or there is more that the World’s Richest Man is aiming to do with the vast resources that Twitter has?.

Prior to the acquisition, Elon Musk was totally obsessed about making optimus AI work, such that he even made a claim that hinted that Optimus AI is probably the most important venture happening at Tesla right now and that when fully deployed may be worth more than Tesla electric vehicles.

Optimus AI is a conceptual general-purpose humanoid robot that’s under development by Tesla and was showcased during Tesla’s Inaugural AI Day in August 2021, it envisioned to practically eliminate the need for humans to do dangerous, repetitive and tedious tasks and in turn help humans do more of creative work and so one of the many things that Optimus AI needs to learn for it to at least work well in human environments is natural language processing which is simply the analysis of human speech and writing(text) patterns so this entails that it needs an already existing colossal human user database to learn from and social media platforms such as Twitter are just the goldmine for that, not only learn that but also human behaviour as the interactions we humans have on these social media platforms are laden with lots of our behavioural patterns that Optimus AI can use to train itself on so that it builds the capabilities to effectively interact with those humans it’ll be hired to help, interacting with them just like the way a fellow human would. But this is no guarantee that Optimus AI will fully work as it is envisioned because this is just one of the many roadblocks that it’s tackling to reach what we may truly call Artificial Intelligence in robots and currently there is actually no known clear algorithm leading that.

This might sound as mere hearsay but it’s worth noting down especially as a person interested in Artificial Intelligence and it’s many uses that affect almost every aspect of our lives. Also we need to consider Elon Musk’s ingenuity and so him having such a motive wouldn’t be a shock especially to those that really know him well.
