Many are times we notice expecting mothers consume soil with the belief that it prevents defecation during child birth, that it helps ease morning sickness so on and so forth.
The above could be their genuine reason but researchers have a different view concerning soil consumption.
Eating dirty may cause anaemia, constipation, pregnancy complication, parasites, bacteria and heavy matters to mention but a few.
Dirty consumption among expecting mothers creates health risks not only for a pregnant woman, but also to the developing fetus.
It does not matter how the dirty is prepared whether baked or burnt to reduce it’s toxicity, it can still bind in ones stomach and eventually affect the unborn child.
There are many risks associated with eating dirty in general, the risks of eating dirt may be m ore important than any potential benefit. Especially if one is pregnant.
