Trade Kings Group has announced the establishment of a 10- Million United States Dollars milk powder spray processing plant in the country.
The plant which is designed to manufacture various dairy products will directly and indirectly provide employment to more than 3-thousand Zambians.
It will also have the capacity of processing 5-hundred thousand liters of milk per day thereby providing market for both dairy farmers and cooperatives.
This came to light when Fisheries and Livestock Minister MAKOZO CHIKOTE, Agriculture Minister REUBEN MTOLO and Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister CHIPOKA MULENGA visited the manufacturing plant in Lusaka.
Mr. CHIKOTE expressed the ministry’s support to the company, which is in line with governments’ agenda of promoting value addition and empowerment of local producers.
He said government is working on policies and interventions that will protect the local milk farmers and the private sector to ensure challenges facing the dairy industry are addressed.
And Trade Kings Group Public Relations and Corporate Affairs manager BRIDGET KAMBOBE said the company is ready to partner with government in ensuring farmers have market for their milk.
