The session, held to provide clarifications on the Report of the Auditor General for the Account of the Republic for the Financial Year Ended 31 December 2023, saw ZRA officials responding to various points of concern. The report, which highlights financial discrepancies and areas needing improvement, is a crucial document for ensuring transparency and accountability in the management of public funds.

Hon. Wamunyima, known for his dedication to improving healthcare, education, agriculture, and water sanitation in Nalolo, took the opportunity to discuss key issues with Dr. Fundanga. Their conversation underscored the importance of effective financial oversight and the role of ZRA in enhancing revenue collection and compliance.

Dr. Fundanga, who has a distinguished career in economic policy and development, emphasized the need for robust measures to address the audit findings and improve the efficiency of ZRA’s operations. His leadership at ZRA is seen as pivotal in driving reforms aimed at increasing tax compliance and curbing financial irregularities.

The PAC session continues to be a critical platform for holding public institutions accountable and ensuring that public resources are managed effectively for the benefit of all Zambians.
