The Zambia Police Service would like to notify the general public about the detention of Honourable Munir Zulu and Mr. Brebnar Changala. Honourable Munir Zulu has been detained on the grounds of alleged hate speech. This action was taken after a thorough investigation into statements made by Honourable Zulu, which were found to incite hatred and division among different groups within our society. Hate speech is a grave offense that undermines the unity and peace of our nation, and the Zambia Police Service is fully committed to upholding the law and ensuring that such actions are dealt with appropriately.

In addition, Mr. Brebnar Changala has also been detained for the alleged offense of seditious practices. The evidence gathered suggests that Mr. Changala was involved in activities aimed at inciting rebellion against the authority of the state. Seditious practices pose a significant threat to national security and public order, and the Zambia Police Service will take all necessary measures to prevent such actions and maintain stability within our nation.

Both Honourable Munir Zulu and Mr. Brebnar Changala are currently in police custody and will soon appear in court to face the charges brought against them. The Zambia Police Service urges the public to remain calm and avoid making speculative statements that could further escalate tensions. We are dedicated to carrying out our duties with fairness and integrity, ensuring that justice is served to all parties involved.

In an effort to maintain peace and harmony, the Zambia Police Service is appealing to the public to stay composed and avoid spreading unfounded rumors that may escalate the current tensions. Mr. Rae Hamoonga, the Public Relations Officer of the police service, emphasized their unwavering commitment to carrying out their responsibilities in a just and honest manner, ensuring that justice prevails. It is their utmost priority to serve the community with integrity and fairness, and they urge everyone to support their efforts by refraining from making speculative statements that could potentially worsen the situation.
